Great Sangria recipe???

I am throwing a luau party and want to make a big batch of Sangrai. I've never made it before. I want something sweet...whats the BEST recipe?Great Sangria recipe???
This is my favorite Sangria recipe. I like to make it at least once every summer for an evening of Salsa dancing and BBQ- Enjoy!

Sangria San Marcos

* 2 navel oranges, thinly sliced (you may want to add more if omitting the pear and kiwi)

* 2 lemons, thinly sliced

* 2 limes, thinly sliced

* 1 pear, cored and chopped (optional)

* 1 kiwi, peeled and sliced (optional)

* 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced (optional but delicious)

* 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks in juice (fresh is best however, use the whole pineapple and omit the pear and kiwi!)

* 1/2 cup white sugar (I usually omit this)

* 1/2 cup Cointreau or other orange liqueur

* 1 cup white rum

* 1/3 cup coconut-flavored rum

* 2 cups orange juice

* 2 (750 milliliter) bottles dry red wine, chilled

* 1/2 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen pink lemonade concentrate, thawed (optional)

* 1/4 cup lemon juice

* 2 tablespoons lime juice

* 1 cup lemon-lime soda, chilled

DIRECTIONS

1. Place the oranges, lemons, limes, pear, kiwi, strawberries, pineapple chunks and juice, and white sugar into a large punch bowl. Pour the Cointreau, white rum, coconut-flavored rum, and orange juice over the fruit. Stir gently to dissolve the sugar. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.

2. Add the red wine, pink lemonade concentrate, lemon juice, and lime juice. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours, or overnight.

3. Before serving, pour the chilled lemon-lime soda into the punch bowl.

When serving ladle over a few ice cubes in a glass, spooning the fruit into the glass with the liquid. Disfruta!Great Sangria recipe???
When I lived in Spain, this is how my host family made Sangria:

Per bottle of red Wine:

1 sliced orange

1 apple cut in chunks

1/4 lemon wedge

1 banana sliced

12 oz of lemon soda like 7up or Sprite

and if you wish you can add 1 ounce of gin.

Note that if you add alcohol to it it will make it quite strong, stronger than people realize. If they have to drive home afterward you might want to skip adding any alcohol. Also the longer you let it sit with the fruit the stronger it will get from the fruit fermenting in the wine. The reason I like Sangria besides the taste is because you can cut the alcohol content down with the soda, I also don't let the fruit marinated more than a couple of hours so that it is not to treacherous.

Have a great party.

Good party sangria recipe?

For people in their 20s.

For about 6-8 people.

I'm looking for a GOOD one.

I haven't been able to find a really satisfying one.

Preferably with a hint of Italian flavor.Good party sangria recipe?
Try using a Merlot blend, since you want it sweet.

Merlot blended with cherry or blackberry will work just fine.

Mix the Merlot with slices of lemons, limes and oranges. Let it chill slightly and enjoy.Good party sangria recipe?
A very good, cheap and easy way to make Sangria is simply with box wine (red Zinfandel works well) and orange crush. Stir, add ice cubes and serve in a big bowl. You can add fresh cut oranges if you like too.
1 Bottle of red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Rioja, Zinfandel, Shiraz)

1 Lemon cut into wedges

1 Orange cut into wedges

1 Lime cut into wedges

2 Tbsp sugar

Splash of orange juice

2 Shots of gin

1 Cup of sliced strawberries or raspberries (may use thawed or frozen)

1 Small can of diced pineapples (with juice)

4 Cups ginger ale

Pour wine in the pitcher and squeeze the juice wedges from the lemon, orange and lime into the wine. Toss in the fruit wedges (leaving out seeds if possible) and pineapple then add sugar, orange juice and gin.
Looks like you have some good responses, but I'll add mine! :)

FIRST: cut up fruit, I use: mango, orange, pineapple, and apple in a large bowl.

SECOND: pour in a bottle of brandy and soak overnight.

THIRD: the next day, pour in some cheap burgundy (I buy the gallon bottles for about $7 at the liquor store) and a 1/2 gallon Dole tropical juice (any tropical juice, but I use the mango/pineapple juice) and mix together.

LAST: Serve over ice, and top with Sprite!

YUM! :)

p.s. for a variation, you can also use a blush or white wine.
A sure winner! http://www.cocktail-guru.com/

I made it at a party a few days a ago and the people were amazed

Cheers!
2 bottles ( at least) of cheap red wine no point in using a good red as the flavour needs the rougher taste not a smooth taste

1 or 2 cartons of good quality orange Juice

Lots of fruit . apples /oranges/ lemons

lemonade ( I let mine go flat but can use it fizzy if you prefer)

I use Vodka because the idea is for it to taste of a nice refreshing fruit drink but to have the kick of an old grumpy donkey. Vodka doesn't over power the flavor or Baccardi will do whichever you prefer really and always a couple of shots of Brandy (just a cheap one don't waste the good stuff) I use about half a bottle of vodka ( sometimes more !) but that does make it quite strong best to add a little wait then try and see . you can always add more if needed.

I like to make mine early in the morning so the fruit has time to flavour the drink.

Add ice if required drink and enjoy.

I have made this many times over the last 10 years and it always goes down a treat sorry can't think of anything Italian to add, maybe use an italian wine.

Hope you enjoy it!

When ready to serve, crush the fruit lightly with a wooden spoon and stir in the wine and orange juice. Adjust sweetness to taste.Sangria recipe?
You need a good fruity red wine, any fruit you want but make sure to include orange and lemon slices, brandy, some caster sugar and some sparkling water.

Pour the whole bottle of wine into a big jug and a good glug of the brandy, add the caster sugar to taste.. it should be a bit sweet but still have the bite of the wine to it so add slowy and stir thoroughly everytime, tasting all the way through. Add the chopped fruit. Put in the fridge over night and then when the time comes to serve fill up the glass about 2/3 the way with the sangria and then the rest with ice and sparkling water. Also... put bit more brandy in if you want! Haha!

Chill overnight. Add ginger ale and ice just before serving. If you'd like to serve right away, use chilled red wine and serve over lots of ice. However, remember that the best Sangrias are chilled around 24 hours in the frig. - allowing the flavors to really marinate into each other.

I am looking for an authentic Sangria recipe, do any Spaniards have one that they would share with me?

    RECIPE FOR SPANISH SANGR脥A

    The authentic traditional Spanish Sangria!

    1 Litre of red wine

2 oranges (juice - ';naranjas de zumo';)

4 peaches, cut into small pieces

    5 desert spoons sugar

    2 pieces of lemon skin

    Steps:

1: Choose a red wine - Sangria is a refreshing drink and you don't need to use a vintage wine. We recommend a reasonably priced wine from Jumilla, Alicante or Valencia..... Put the wine into a jug, add the sugar, and stir until it is properly dissolved.

2: Squeeze the two oranges, and add the juice to the jug. Save a slice of orange skin to decorate.

3: Wash the peaches, peel them and cut them into small quarters (e.g. six per peach). Add them to the jug. If it is not Summer, you can use any other in-season fruit.

4: Put the jug into the fridge. Sangr铆a should always be served chilled. If you want to reduce the alchohol concentration, add icecubes and slices of lemon. If you want to increase the alcohol concentration, add a small amount of cognac or rum.

(750 ml) bottle inexpensive fruity medium-bodied red wine

1 (750 ml) bottle coconut rum (I use Captain Morgan)

    1 large fresh orange

    1 fresh lime

    1 fresh lemon

    5 fresh kiwi

    1 lb green grapes

    1 fresh mango

    1 lb fresh strawberries

Wash and cut the fruit into small chunks.

You do not need to peel the fruit, just wash and chunk.

Place the cut fruit pieces into a large cooler.

(We buy the styrofoam disposable coolers with the lid.) Pour the full contents of the red wine and rum over the fresh fruit, mixing and stirring.

Cover the cooler and and let sit for at least 24 hours in a dark cool place.

    (This is the hard part.).

Serve the mixture by spooning out with a laddle into cups with the fruit and liquid.

Can be poured over ice, but is equally as good straight from the cooler.

I am not Spaniard, but I would recommend this recipe for Sangria. As you know, Sangria is just a combination of wine, liquor, fruit juice or carbonated drink or cordial %26amp; diced fruits.

    My favorite combo is :

1.White wine, either Torrentes (Argentina) or Cava or Reisling

    2.Absinthe

    3.7-Up

    4.Diced apples

    You should try this. Excellent.

    -bottle of Jadot Beaujolais Villages

    -1 orange, cut wedges

    -1 lemon, cut wedges

    -1 TBSP sugar

-shot of brandy (depending on how I feel)

pour wine into a pitcher. squeeze the lemon and orange juices into the wine. toss in the wedges. mix in sugar and brandy. Refrigerate over night. Before you serve, you could add some ginger ale for a little fizz, I don't anymore as I just like the wine.

its a good base, get creative, toss in some fresh fruit, I used strawberries, watermelons, and peaches before, all good.

Just use a decent quality red. Make sure its low in tannins and has good acidity. Beaujolais is a good choice, as is dolcetto d'alba.

Or go the other way and use something like Carlo Rossi Paisano, cheap, but drinkable. Add a couple of tablespoons of sugar, definitely add the brandy or rum, and another orange.

    The Best Sangria

The longer sangria sits before drinking, the more smooth and mellow it will taste. A full day is best, but if that鈥檚 impossible, give it an absolute minimum of two hours to sit. Use large, heavy, juicy oranges and lemons for the best flavor. Doubling or tripling the recipe is fine, but you鈥檒l have to switch to a large punch bowl in place of the pitcher. An inexpensive Merlot is the best choice for this recipe.

    Serves 4

2 large juice oranges , washed; one orange sliced; remaining orange juiced

1 large lemon , washed and sliced

    1/4 cup granulated sugar

    1/4 cup Triple Sec

1 bottle inexpensive, fruity, medium-bodied red wine (750 milliliters), chilled

    1. Add sliced orange, lemon, and sugar to large pitcher; mash gently with wooden spoon until fruit releases some juice, but is not totally crushed, and sugar dissolves, about 1 minute. Stir in orange juice, Triple Sec, and wine; refrigerate for at least 2, and up to 8, hours.

    2. Before serving, add 6 to 8 ice cubes and stir briskly to distribute settled fruit and pulp; serve immediately.

Does any body work at a carrabba's Italian grill and know the recipe for there white sangria? thank you?

Have you tried ';chatting it up'; with one of the bartenders and then casually bringing up the topic of their white sangria and how much you like it and then just asking them what mixture they use? Ive learned a lot of secret drink ingredients just by talking to some of the more laid back bartenders. Ive never sold or given out their ';recipe';, but I have used it to make my own drinks at home.Does any body work at a carrabba's Italian grill and know the recipe for there white sangria? thank you?
Try to google ';recipe for Carrabba's white sangria'; you should get some recipes that will be similar. I did this with KFC cole slaw and I got the recipe! Good Luck!

Who knows of the best place to get sangria or of a good recipe?

i live in the san francisco bay area and my best friend and i are on a mission to find some good sangira.Who knows of the best place to get sangria or of a good recipe?
I'm not sure where the best place in San Fran to get sangria is but I do know that you can make it pretty easily and not have to pay alot like you might have to do at a bar. I've tried alot of recipes and this one seems to make the best (so say my friends and coworkers):

2 bottles red wine (try Yellow Tail or Lindeman's Cab. Sauv.)

    2 cans Fresca (citrus flavor)

    1-4 apples, cubed

    1-2 oranges, peeled and sectioned

    0.5 limes

    0.5 lemons

    0.25-0.5 cups sugar

Mix the wine, soda and sugar in a pitcher or bowl. Add sugar to taste (I usually use around 0.25 cups but others have used more with good results). Then add in apples and oranges and mix. People tend not to like the oranges since they get soggy so I favor an apple heavy version but if you can use whatever you like best. Then place the lime and lemon slices into some kind of plastic bag with holes or netting and place them into the sangria. Chill overnight and remove the lime/lemon pieces before serving. It's easiest if they are in some kind of container that allows them to soak in the wine but not float all over the place. Enjoy!Who knows of the best place to get sangria or of a good recipe?
I usually think of Sangria as being red but, in Texas, we love to make it with oranges. Add cut-up citrus for decoration:

    Orange Sangria

This is a nice alternative to red or white sangria.

    1 medium orange

    1/4 cup sugar

2 cups orange juice (freshly squeezed is best)

1 bottle of dry red wine

    1/2 cup Cointreau

Cut the orange in half. With a vegetable peeler, cut off the thin outer peel of one of the orange halves, avoiding the bitter white layer beneath it. Slice the other half of the orange; use for garnish.

In a bowl, using a spoon, mash the sugar into the orange peel so the sugar absorbs the oils. Stir in the orange juice, wine and Cointreau. Cover and chill for 15 minutes.

Remove the orange peel with a slotted spoon or strainer. Chill well. Serve sangria in a pitcher, garnished with reserved orange slices. Add ice cubes to individual servings, if desired. Makes 6 one-cup servings.
    carrabba's italian grill
You don't need to add rum or other alchohol. Just buy a lower priced 1/2 gallon or 1 gallon jug of wine and mix in the fruit, sugar and some citrus soda (fresca works best).

You can buy some sangria mixes at the store, but in my opinion it's best to make your own.
    OOOOOhhh...it's sooo good homemade!

    Red Sangria

    1 orange, sliced

    1 lime, sliced

    1 apple, cored and sliced

    1 bottle red wine

    3 cups white rum

1/2 cup orange flavored liqueur, recommended: Cointreau

    1 cup orange juice

    1/2 cup pomegranate juice

    3 tablespoons sugar

1 quart club soda, to taste

To a pitcher add orange, lime, apple and cover with red wine, rum, orange liqueur, orange juice, pomegranate juice and stir in sugar. Chill in the refrigerator. When ready to serve top off with club soda, to taste.

Anybody out there have a great Sangria recipe?

This Sangria recipe maximizes the fruit content and adds a new twist, using a white wine, instead of the traditional reds. Buckle-up for a fruit-punch like flavor that is perfect for a backyard BBQ this summer.

What is a good Red Sangria drink recipe for a dinner party of eight adults.?

    my favorite party drink!!

one bottle of red wine (I like to use a red zin or a meritage, like wild bunch)

    one lemon (sliced into wheels)

    one lime (sliced into wheels)

    one small can mandarin oranges

    one small can pineapple rings

    one large gala apple

    one pint blackberries

    about ten large strawberries

    15 ounces apple juice

    15 ounces cranberry juice

    2 shots remy red (optional)

slice all your fruit, place into a large plastic container (I like to use a tupperware container instead of a pitcher at first so I can turn it over a few times while it's marinating). pour in your canned fruit (including juice), and liquid ingredients. Let it marinate in the fridge for at least 24 hours, turning over two or three times (because the strawberries, blackberries, and oranges will sink). serve over ice with a splash of gingerale (or lemonade) on top.

this is absolutely delicious - great for summer! a little more tropical than traditional sangria. this will make a batch for about ten good sized glasses, but it's easy to double.

    Keep it simple.

a bottle of cheap red (maybe two)

    A six pack of squirt

    one orange

    One lemon

    one lime

get a huge carafe or jug or bucket

The whole bottle of wine goes in.

add the squirt one can at a time, as you will flavor to taste

When you get the taste you want, slice up the fruit thin and layer it atop the sangria. Oh, ice to chill it down.

    That's it.

Use any cheap cabernet because they are more full bodied wines. Cut up one apple, orange, lemon, and lime per two bottles of wine.

Soak it for at least 24 hours and serve well chilled.

I know you said youre broke, but if you can get some Gran Marnier in that its simply amazing and it gives it a really good kick!

Who can give me the best sangria recipe?

    Sangria ingredients:

For approximately 1陆 litres of Sangria

    1 bottle of red wine

    Lemonade

    Brandy or Bacardi or Vodka

    Grand Marnier or Cointreau

    Lemon, orange and apple

    Sugar

    Ice

    Preparation:

Into a punch bowl or a large jug pour 1 bottle of red wine and more or less the same amount of lemonade (in Spain they use gaseosa). The quantity of lemonade depends on your taste. Add a good amount of ice.

Wash the fruit well as you are going to being using the peel as well. Then slice up the citrus fruits, chop the apples and add to the mix.

You can stop at that if you want a light drink but if you want a zing add a shot of Brandy, Bacardi or Vodka and a shot of Grand Marnier or Cointreau. This is up to you and you may want to experiment with it to find what you like.

Spanish people often add a little sugar but again this depends on your taste, personally I think a little sugar enhances the flavour.Who can give me the best sangria recipe?

    don't forget the citrus twists

Does anyone have a good Sangria Recipe?

To make in larger patches most recipes will call for soaking seasonal fruit in red wine for a length of time. But for instant gratification try this one.

Muddle what ever fresh fruit you have at hand. Strawberrys, raspberries, orange wedge, etc. Good quality fresh fruit is key. Now mix:

    1/2oz brandy

    1/2oz peach schnapps

    1/4oz triple sec

about 4oz of a dry Spanish red wine

Shake all ingrediets cold and serve on ice in a pint glass or a goblet. Garnish with more fresh fruit. This a basic recipe, feel free to tweat it at will and put your own twist on it.

Recipe for authentic Sangria from South of Puerto Rico?

I went to the south of Puerto Rico and stayed at a place across the water from Gilligan's and Bellena Island. I want an AUTHENTIC puerto rican sangria recipe, please. :)Recipe for authentic Sangria from South of Puerto Rico?
I'm sorry I can't help you more, but at this point I will do my investigating.

The recipes given you so far are not ';authentic'; Puerto Rican Sangria.

There are many different versions of white and red Puerto Rican Sangria.

The Puerto Rican Sangria most typically made is with Bacardi 151 Rum and Gallo Burgundy wine and then mixed with local tropical fruit juices. I don't have an exact recipe but I'll try to get one.

I'm the host of a group called PuertoRicoDishByDish on the Care2 Network. Please feel free to look it up if it interests you. I have a growing group of AUTHENTIC recipes, so authentic that most of which you will find in grandma's kitchen. Keep in contact, I will try my best to find you the recipe!

The following link at the bottom of the page probably has the closest version of Puerto Rican Sangria I know of. I will translate it into English just in case:

    1 bottle red wine

1 cup dark Puerto Rican Rum

1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice

1/2 cup fresh squeezed lime juice

1 cup of sugar (traditionally raw sugar is used, a type called Panela)

    2 cups sliced peaches

Stir all ingredients together, except peaches, until sugar dissolves.

    Stir in peaches.

At time of serving, add ice, and stir well.

Before serving, remove ice and serve immediately.Recipe for authentic Sangria from South of Puerto Rico?
1 (750 ml) bottle red wine (cheap spanish tempranillo works great)

    3/4 cup white rum

1/2 cup whiskey (sweeter the better)

    1/4 cup triple sec

1/2-3/4 liter lime flavored seltzer water

    1 cup sugar

    1/2 lemon

    1/2 orange

Note: Because of the large volume I suggest making this in batches. This is one reason for the vagueness of the measurements.

Mix the wine with 3/4 cup sugar. Set rest of sugar to the side.

    Add Liquors and stir.

Slowly add 1/2 ltr lime seltzer and stir.

Taste now and add any ingredients to taste. There SHOULD be a bit of a liquor bite to it, but it should NOT be overpowering. Likewise it should be sweet but not send you into a diabetic coma. It should also have a decent fizz to it, if it's too thick, add seltzer. Just experement.

Once you've got the taste you want, add the slices of fruit. I've found that the sangria i get in America tends to be loaded down with fruit. Remember that it's more of a garnish and only adds a bit of flavor. If you need a ton of fruit to get the desired flavor, you haven't got the right mixture.

Have fun experementing, and enjoy it. It's perfect for summer days and bbqs.

    Chau.
idk how authentic this one is.....but it packs a wollap!!!

I make mine the following way:

1.5 liters of dry red wine-use a Spanish rioja as it is more traditional and is full bodied.

    2 lemons-thinly sliced

    2 oranges-thinly sliced

2 apple/peach/pear/plum(your choice) thinly sliced and seeded

    2 sticks of cinnamon

    5-6 whole cloves

add to wine in a clean glass container, allow to sit at least overnight in the refrigerator.

This makes a dry sangria- You can sweeten it by adding some simple syrup to taste.

Simple syrup is a bartenders ingredient for cocktails

1 part sugar-1 part water- bring to boil until thoroughly dissolved, allow to cool. Keep in a jar or bottle in your fridge for all your bar or baking needs.

    Enjoy-

You could add berries as well I guess!

I like mine crisp and refreshing as I live in a Hot Climate and do not enjoy syrupy things in the heat.
If you want to drink what the Spanish drink then this is it. It's called Tinto de verano, wine of the summer.

Equal parts Red wine, table wine is good as its generally not to heavy, and lemonade, the Spanish use gaseosa, this is like a very weak lemonade.

Poured over a jug of ice, with orange and lemon slices.

It is lovely pour over ripe strawberries.

Any fruit you like, apples and pears go well together.

It's light not mindblowingly strong and very very refreshing. Everyone will want your recipe once they have tried it.

    * a sweetener such as honey or Orange juice,

    * a small amount of added brandy, triple sec, or other spirits.

1/2 cup triple sec 1 lemon, sliced into rounds

    1 lime, sliced into rounds

    1/4 cup white sugar (optional)

    8 maraschino cherries

    2 cups carbonated water

    DIRECTIONS:

    1. In a large pitcher or bowl, mix together the brandy, lemon juice, lemonade concentrate, orange juice, red wine, triple sec, and sugar. Float slices of lemon, orange and lime, and maraschino cherries in the mixture. Refrigerate overnight for best flavor. For a fizzy sangria, add club soda just before serving. While visiting Tampa I had some great sangria in a very nice eatery. Does anyone have a great sangria recipe?
Definately Franzia Fruity Red Sangria it comes in a 5 Liter box. Just add an orange slice or lime slice. It is great. I also have a great homemade receipe but this is just as good.
Regardless of the recipe you choose, here are a few pointers:

    1. use simple wine (white or red). Avoid wines with heavy oak character or aggressive tannins, as they can make for a bitter sangria. An inexpensive Italian Montepulciano d'Abruzzo should work well, for example.

    2. use fresh fruit. Chop a variety of fruits, including limes, lemons, honeydew melon, strawberry, cantaloupe melon, apple, pear, pineapple and orange. Go easy on the orange...it tends to overwhelm. Citrus (lemon and lime) is essential, whereas other fruits can be omitted or substituted as available. Also, no need to peel the fruit.

    3. be generous with the brandy! Using cognac is delicious, if expensive. Simple brandies work just fine.

    4. use brown sugar to sweeten to taste; it is richer flavored and dissolves easily.

    5. allow everything to macerate overnight. The flavors integrate and gives the best taste. Keep refrigerated, and a batch should last a week, easily.

    6. serve on ice.

    7. my favorite style is white wine with mint, chopped ginger, and assorted fruit (particularly pineapple).
Yes, they do use brandy in Sangria.

I just saw a recipe for Pineapple Sangria using pineapple juice, Pear Brandy and white wine. Yum. Sorry I don't have quantities--I'm an eyeball it kind of bartender.

This sangria recipe is a hit for our family. I even use it as a punch starter sometimes. We drink it more when it is really hot out but we also enjoy it year round.

    Sangria Recipe

    Ingredients:

1 large bottle or red or white wine.

    2 tablespoons of sugar.

    1 thinly sliced orange.

    1 thinly sliced lemon.

    1 thinly sliced lime.

    1 quart of club soda.

2 dozen or so maraschino cherries. Sometimes I add a little of the juice to give it more of a cherry flavor.

    Directions:

Combine everything together (except the club soda) and let sangria sit in the refrigerator over night. Add the club soda right before serving.

When I want a non-alcoholic version I use white grape juice instead. My kids love their own sangria.

I have also used part red wine and part white wine as well. You can add a little brandy to the sangria recipe if you would like as well.
Fred Sanford got it right....he mixed champagne and ripple and called it champipple......far better than any sangria in my opinion.

Whats the Best recipe for Sangria ???!!!?

Here is the best I've taste. I've made it myself yesterday and take a picture. Hope it's useful for you.

    Sangria - Recipe and Photo:

Good luckWhats the Best recipe for Sangria ???!!!?
This is the bet recipe I've tried, and I've tried a lot of them! The balance of flavors is nice, but I think the secret is in letting it sit in the fridge for a while so the flavors really have a chance to combine.

--2 large juice oranges, washed--slice one orange, then juice the remaining one

    --1 large lemon, washed, sliced

    --1/4 cup sugar

--1/4 cup Triple Sec (or Grand Marnier, but that's more expensive and not really worth it for this recipe)

--1 750-ml bottle inexpensive, fruity medium-bodied red wine such as Merlot, chilled (note: don't waste a really nice bottle on sangria--you won't taste the difference!)

Put sliced orange, sliced lemon, and sugar in a pitcher; mash together gently with a wooden spoon until the fruit releases some juice, but is not totally crushed, and sugar dissolves--about 1 minute. Stir in orange juice, Triple Sec, and wine. Chill for at least 2 and up to 8 hours.

Before serving, add 6 to 8 ice cubes and stir briskly to distribute the fruit pulp. Serve immediately.

This is easy to serve to a group--no problem if you need to double the recipe. If you want a boozier sangria, you can always add more triple sec or even a splash of Cognac, or just let guests doctor it to their taste, but I prefer this lighter, more summery version where you really taste the citrus. Happy Valentine.
    RECIPE FOR SPANISH SANGRÍA

    The authentic traditional Spanish Sangria!

    Ingredients:

    1 Litre of red wine

    2 oranges - juice

4 peaches, cut into small pieces (can use canned)

    5 desert spoons sugar

    2 pieces of lemon skin

    Steps:

1: Choose a red wine - Sangria is a refreshing drink and you don't need to use a vintage wine.

Sangría should always be served chilled. If you want to reduce the alchohol concentration, add icecubes and slices of lemon. If you want to increase the alcohol concentration, add a small amount of cognac or rum.
    Sangría:

    3 tablespoons sugar

    3 tablespoons white rum

    3 tablespoons Cointreau (orange-flavored liqueur)

    3 tablespoons brandy

    6 orange slices

right before serving put wine mixture into a pitcher, add club soda and serve with sliced fruit.
Sangria is a great party drink for the summer – It’s easy to make, inexpensive and very refreshing. It is a good punch for a large party and by adding or subtracting 7-up, you can make it as strong or weak as you’d like.

Although you may be tempted to buy the cheapest red wine you can find, resist that temptation! If you would not drink the wine by itself, don’t put it in the sangria. It will taste better and you won’t have a hangover the next day.

    This recipe serves 6-8 party-goers.

    INGREDIENTS:

2 750 ml Bottles Red Wine – any type

    2 12 oz cans 7-Up or any lemon-lime soda

    2 oz Triple Sec

    1/2 cup Brandy

1/2 cup Sugar, (more if you like a sweeter drink)

    1 Orange, Sliced

    2 Lemons, Sliced

    Ice

    PREPARATION:

    Prepare the Fruit

Slice the orange and lemons about 1/8 inch thick. Place in a large punch bowl or the largest mixing bowl you have. Add 1/2 cup of sugar and wine. Mix thoroughly to dissolve the sugar.

    The Best Sangria

The longer sangria sits before drinking, the more smooth and mellow it will taste. A full day is best, but if that's impossible, give it an absolute minimum of two hours to sit. Use large, heavy, juicy oranges and lemons for the best flavor. Doubling or tripling the recipe is fine, but you'll have to switch to a large punch bowl in place of the pitcher.

This is my favorite. I make it all the time. I make it for a large dinner party (usually 8-10 people)

    2 bottles white wine

    1 liter of apple juice

1 liter of cranberry juice (or any fruit juice for extra flavor)

    Slices of oranges, strawberries, limes

    Fresh ginger sprinkled on top

Combine and chill for at least 3 hours. Then serve.Does anyone have have a good recipe for sangria?
o yeah! for a quick one-glass (8 oz) sangria mix all following ingredients

    few ice cubes

    1/2 glass red wine

    1 shot brandy

1 shot triple sec (or grand marnier)

    a splash of lemon juice

    top with fresh orange juice

cut small pcs of fruit such as apple and peach

    yummy!
    INGREDIENTS:

1 Bottle of red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Rioja, Zinfandel, Shiraz)

    1 Lemon cut into wedges

    1 Orange cut into wedges

    1 Lime cut into wedges

    2 Tbsp sugar

    Splash of orange juice

    2 Shots of gin

1 Cup of sliced strawberries or raspberries (may use thawed or frozen)

1 Small can of diced pineapples (with juice)

    4 Cups ginger ale

    PREPARATION:

Pour wine in the pitcher and squeeze the juice wedges from the lemon, orange and lime into the wine. Toss in the fruit wedges (leaving out seeds if possible) and pineapple then add sugar, orange juice and gin.

Chill overnight. Add ginger ale, berries and ice just before serving. If you'd like to serve right away, use chilled red wine and serve over lots of ice. However, remember that the best Sangrias are chilled around 24 hours in the frig. - allowing the flavors to really marinate into each other.

How many people can I seve with this Sangria recipe?

    1 bottle red wine

    2 shots gin

    1 orang

    1 lime

    1 can pinapples

    4 cups gingerale

strawberriesHow many people can I seve with this Sangria recipe?
Your one bottle of red wine - assuming that it is a fifth - will give you 24 ounces of liquid, your two shots of gin would add another two ounces if you are using single shots or 4 ounces if you were using double shots, your 4 cups of gingerale will give you another 32 ounces so that you would have a total of between 58 and 60 ounces of liquid. Your orange, lime, pineapples and strawberries would add between two to three cups to the mix depending on whether you use a pint of quart of strawberries and a small 8 ounce can of pineapple plus juice..

You would then end up with approximately 9 - 10 cups of total ';batch'; -

By putting 6 ounces of the Sangria together with SOME OF THE FRUIT into each glass - not counting any ice you would then be able to serve approximately 14 glasses + or - and allowing for two 6 ounces glasses per person you would then have enough for approximately Seven - Eight people. - figuring on two glasses per person.

BUT by being realistic since probably not everyone would be

drinking it by opting to drink something else you could be able to serve 10 people quite comfortably with this

And if you thinned it out by putting two ice cubes into each glass you could probably serve up to 12.people sufficiently!

Good Luck! How many people can I seve with this Sangria recipe?
    2
Well, you get approximately 4 glasses of wine from eack bottle, and 4 cups from the ginger ale , I'd say ,if you are including the juice from the pineapple(don't get the kind in syrup) between 8 and 10 if you have decent size servings(i'd err on the lower side to be cautious)....you can also make ';sangriatinis'; if you mix equally with orange vodka, dash of sour mix, and shake wth ice and pour into chilled martini glasses.....
With the bottle of wine you will have 4 cups

the gin, orange, and lime depending on how you squeeze them or if you use a juicer you should have another cup with the pineapples small can 1 cup, big can 3 cups. then lastly you have four cups ginger ale

for most wine servings you wont exceed 1/2 cup at a time, your recipe is a little veg, but i would say you have 20 to 24 servings. good luck and it sounds very good, you should send me a more detailed recipe please! ta ta

Sangría should always be served chilled. If you want to reduce the alchohol concentration, add icecubes and slices of lemon. If you want to increase the alcohol concentration, add a small amount of cognac or rum.
    Sangría:

    3 tablespoons sugar

    3 tablespoons white rum

    3 tablespoons Cointreau (orange-flavored liqueur)

    3 tablespoons brandy

    6 orange slices

    6 lemon slices

1 peach, cut into 6 wedges

    1 cinnamon stick

1 (750-milliliter) bottle Rioja or other fruity red wine (such as Beaujolais or Zinfandel)

    1 cup sparkling water, chilled

Combine all the ingredients except sparkling water in a large pitcher. Chill for 8 hours. Stir in water immediately before serving.

    Yield: 6 servings
    Sangria

    750 ml good red wine

    1/2 c orange juice

    1/2 c sugar

    1/2 cup brandy

1 liter bottle of club soda

Select several of the following fruits ~ oranges, limes, lemons, strawberries, cherries, pineapple, kiwi

mash some of the fruit (any combo that suits your taste) to make one cup mashed fruit. add to wine mixture, Slice some of the fruit to place in glasses.

right before serving put wine mixture into a pitcher, add club soda and serve with sliced fruit.
