Sparkling Sangria
1 cup brandy
1/2 cup orange liqueur
1/4 cup sugar, super fine
1 orange, thinly sliced
1 pint raspberries
1 lime, thinly sliced
1 lemon, thinly sliced
2 bottles sparkling wine or cava, chilled (I use spumante)
In a large pitcher, combine the brandy, and orange liqueur. Pour in the sugar, stir or shake the pitcher thoroughly to mix until the sugar dissolves. Add all the fruit at once. Add the cava and serve as is or on ice. What is the best red wine sangria recipe and what is the best red wine to use in it?

Top with Lemon Lime sodaWhat is the best red wine sangria recipe and what is the best red wine to use in it?
Since Shiloh h works at Applebee's I agree with her. We make the best drinks ever!!!!
This is what I do...I usually use Valpolicella....
fill a pitcher up with ice
half of pitcher with wine
an ounce of Amaretto
7-Up (till almost full)
Cut up fruit (orange sections, lime, lemon even apple chunks) and then some marashino cherries (and add some of the juice from the jar, yummy)
Spanish wine is reasonably price, I would not spend more than $6.00 for a liter, I use the fruit and squeeze some of the juices in, traditional has brandy and triple sec in it along with the wine a fruits.
Depending how sweet you want it, a simple sugar syrup is a nice touch, the sugar is already dissolved, ice is something you can add after, chilled the wine so you can keep it as strong as possible.
